Kupang, E Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated on Monday that he has not received a letter of resignation from Social Service Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa who will run for the East Java governorship this year.

"I have not received it. According to heresay, it has reached the minister/state secretary`s table but it has not reached my table," he said while paying a working visit to Kupang municipality on Monday.

Jokowi made the remarks in response to Social Service Minister Khofifah`s wish to run for the East Java governorship this year.

He said he will decide the social service minister`s status soon after receiving the letter.

But he refused to give any comment when journalists inquired about whether he will soon find replacement for Social Service Minister Khofifah.

Khofifah said earlier she will decide whether or not to resign from the Working Cabinet when she registers her candidacy for East Java governor with the Provincial General Elections Commission (KPUD).

"Between (Jan) 8 and 10, bismillah (in the name of God), I and Mas Emil will register with (the KPUD) as East Java gubernatorial and vice gubernatorial candidates," she said referring to Trenggalek district head Emil Dardak.

Khofifah said she has reported her candidacy for East Java governorship to both President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
