Muhamad`s design really touched my heart as an athlete."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - An 18-year-old Indonesian student, Muhamad Farid Husen, has won the medal design competition for the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) 2018, the Indonesian Embassy in Buenos Aires said in a press statement that Antara received here on Friday.

The winning entry of the International Olympic Committee`s (IOC`s) medal design competition was recently announced on the Olympic Games` official website, https://www.olympic.org, the embassy revealed.

Muhamad is the youngest participant of the competition that was joined by some 300 participants from different countries around the world. The judges chose Muhamad`s design, titled "Fireworks of Victory," as the best entry.

"Muhamad`s design really touched my heart as an athlete. The most important thing is to celebrate after winning, and there is nothing better than celebrating with fireworks. It`s also amazing that the winner is the same age as YOG participants," IOC Athletes Commission Member and Olympian judge Aya Medany was quoted as saying on the Olympic Games` official website.

Muhamad commented on his work, saying the Fireworks of Victory reflected happiness and joy, especially when they exploded in the sky and looked like young athletes competing to catch their dreams.

The YOG 2018 will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from October 6 to 18. Athletes representing 206 countries, including Indonesia, will participate in this international multi-sport event.
