Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Government of Uzbekistan has begun granting visa-free access to Indonesian travelers, starting from Feb 10 this year.

The Indonesian Embassy in Uzbekistan in a release on Friday stated that Indonesian travelers will get a 30-day visa-free entry to Uzbekistan, so they no longer need to apply or pay for a visa.

The policy came into effect since Feb 3. Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree to create favorable conditions for boosting Uzbekistan`s tourism potential.

Apart from Indonesia, Uzbekistan is also allowing a 30-day visa-free entry to citizens of six other countries: Turkey, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, and Israel.

Moreover, travelers do not need to report if they are carrying foreign currency of less than US$2,000.
