"I do not want unworthy toilets to ruin the image of the luxurious building venues, because it describes the culture and civilization of the nation," the governor remarked in a press statement received here on Wednesday.
Aher also asked all the local organizing committee personnel of the upcoming Asian Games to check the readiness of all venues for several sports that will be competed in West Java, which borders Jakarta.
The Asian Games, which will be held in Jakarta and the South Sumatra provincial capital city of Palembang from August 18 to September 2, will bring together around 10 thousand athletes from 45 countries to compete in 40 sports.
A total of 40 branches of sports covered in 462 events including soccer, comprising 32 Olympic sports and 8 non-Olympic sports, will be competed at the 18th Asian Games.
"The standard of the toilets in every venue of the match is something that should not be ignored," the governor explained, adding that bad toilets must not spoil the image of the magnificent stadium.
At least seven sports of the Asian Games will be competed in 13 venues to be held in 10 districts/cities in West Java.
The sport events will include road bikes, MTB bikes, paragliding, slalom canoes, modern pentathlon, and the most prestigious sports of soccer.
The soccer competitions are expected to be held in the stadiums of Si Jalak Harupat in Bandung District, Pakansari in Bogor District, Patriot in Bekasi city, and Wibawa Mukti in Bekasi District.
Bike race will be held in the Purwakarta-Subang highway and MTB in Subang, and canoe at Bendung Rentang Majalengka.
In addition, the Arthayasa Stable, ITB Jatinangor, UPI GOR Gymnasium, Paragliding arena, Gunung Mas, and Khe Bun Hill Subang will also be used for the Asian Games sport competitions.
