Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Secretary-General of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Raden Bimo Gunung Abdul Kadir, has been honorably discharged because of his performance.

"(The case of) Mr Bimo is not new," the KPK Chairman, Agus Rahardjo, said here on Friday. He pointed out that two other KPK secretary generals, Anis Said Basalamah and Himawan Adinegoro, were also honorably discharged earlier.

Bimo was discharged not because he was at odds with the KPK, Rahardjo said.

Bimo took up the post of KPK Secretary-General on February 10, 2016. The Deputy KPK chief for eradication, Pahala Nainggolan, has been appointed the acting KPK Secretary-General.

According to KPK`s official website, https://www.kpk.go.id, the secretariat-general is tasked with formulating and implementing policies related to administrative affairs, resources, public services, security and convenience, public relations, and legal defence.

In performing its duties, the KPK secretariat-general can set up a working group whose members may come from one or more bureaus.

The Secretary-General oversees the planning and finance bureau, the general bureau, the human resources bureau, the legal bureau, the public relations bureau, and the leadership secretariat.
