Prabowo brought up export plans during his meeting with Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the former president's residence in Solo, Central Java, on Sunday (July 20).
"I recently visited Belarus, a country that finds strength in its potash stocks. They need a wide range of commodities from us, including rubber and cocoa, whose prices are soaring globally. Belarus is greatly interested in our cocoa," Prabowo told the media.
Bearing that in mind, he emphasized the need for Indonesia to intensify efforts to develop its cocoa farming and chocolate industry to fully capitalize on the current global trend.
"We have begun the necessary measures, as cocoa prices have increased significantly worldwide. It is possible that this trend was caused by plagues that damaged cocoa trees in South America and Africa. This is what I discussed with him (Jokowi)," Prabowo remarked.
Prabowo visited the private residence of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko outside Minsk on July 15 during the final leg of his world diplomatic tour, which also took him to Saudi Arabia, Brazil, France, and Belgium.
The two leaders spent around three hours discussing strategic issues, including possible imports and exports of several agricultural products such as rubber latex, cocoa, lumber, and fertilizers.
Prabowo also took the opportunity to invite Lukashenko to visit Indonesia again, following his previous trip to Jakarta in 2013.
Meanwhile, the Belarusian president highlighted that Prabowo was among the few world leaders he had received at his residence, alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
He also expressed eagerness to revisit Indonesia, stating, "I think we will choose the time and prepare the agenda thoroughly. I will be looking forward to visiting Indonesia again."
