"Seven of the nine police officers suspected of embezzling crystal meth work for the narcotics unit at the Sukabumi police resort and two others work for police precinct," he said on the sidelines of his working visit in Sukabumi on Wednesday.
Several of the nine police officers are ranking officers, he pointed out.
The police have seized the evidence in the case. All the suspects have undergone questioning and have been detained, he said.
The police are still investigating the case, he said without elaborating on whether or not the number of suspects in the case will increase.
"We are still investigating the case and of course, we will develop the investigation into the case," he said.
If found guilty, the nine police officers who are assigned to the Sukabumi city police must be sentenced and will likely be discharged from the National Police, he said.
