Train is one of the modes of transportation for the post-fasting Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran travelers this year.
During the inspection of the railway station, the vice president was accompanied by state-owned Railway Company (KAI) President Director Edi Sukmoro.
Kalla took an observation tour of the health post, public facilities, and the platform of the Gambir Railway station.
Vice President Kalla also took time out to greet some travelers in the Argo Dwipangga carriages before the train departed at 10 a.m. local time for the Solo Balapan Station.
"All going to Yogya, aren`t you? So, this is a homegoing trip. The train now is nice, isn`t it?" Kalla told the passengers.
Although it is not yet a week before Eid al-Fitr, PT KAI has readied an additional train track for offering transportation during Lebaran 2018, including Argo Dwipangga Fakultatif.
Vice President Kalla advised travelers to prepare well before leaving, so as to not miss the departure schedule.
"Yes, of course, passengers are expected to manage their time. They should not be too late. That is why the holiday for Lebaran this year starts at an earlier schedule in order to reduce congestion and accidents," he added.
