"Becoming entrepreneurs in the digital age is very easy, but introducing entrepreneurship to the students should be done from the beginning of the lecture so that they will have a strong sense of entrepreneurship."Jakarta (ANTARA News) -- The London School of Public Relations (LSPR) Jakarta, an Indonesian higher learning institute for communications studies, has opened a business incubator program aimed at preparing students to become real entrepreneurs.
"Becoming entrepreneurs in the digital age is very easy, but introducing entrepreneurship to the students should be done from the beginning of the lecture so that they will have a strong sense of entrepreneurship," Prita Kemal Gani, Founder and Director of LSPR Jakarta, remarked at the first initiation CACS (the Center for ASEAN Creativepreneurship Studies) seminar here on Friday.
According to Prita, the entrepreneurial spirit does not arise spontaneously and therefore should be built as early as possible.
She shared the story of a number of successful young entrepreneurs who started their businesses from different conditions.
"There are some backgrounds that encourage us to become entrepreneurs; among them are having a family business, engaging in business habits in the family, and getting close to an environment related to business activities, as well as being in jobless and hopeless," Prita said.
She said the fact that family businesses are usually expected to be passed on to the next generation inspired her to open a family business mentoring program, which is also included in the CACS programs.
Under the program, students will be coached by a number of mentors, who themselves are successful entrepreneurs, to prepare them to continue their family businesses.
The Center for ASEAN Creativepreneurship Studies at LSPR Jakarta was launched on May 9, 2018.
The programs are organized in line with the student lecture schedule for one year and are free of charge.
Among the speakers at the seminar were Begona Miguel San Emeterio, a lecturer from Nebrija University, Spain, who talked about Digital Communications and Digital Marketing, and Leticia Rodriguez who talked about Corporate Communications, Protocols, and Events.
The other speakers were Afifuddin Suhaeli Kalla, the General Chairman of the Indonesian Young Enterpreneurs Association of Jakarta, Evan Sebastian, who heads Indonesian unicorn company GO-JEK, fashion designer Nina Nugroho, and Daniel Oscar Baskoro, an innovation project assistant for the United Nations.
They delivered speeches about the main theme, "Creativepreneurship 101: the rise of creative entrepreneurs and startups."
