Bukit Raya police chief Commissioner Pribadi said, at least five gunshots have targeted the prison located at Jalan Lembaga Pemasyarakatan, Gobah.
According to Pribadi, the first shooting occurred at 3.30 a.m. while the second shooting occurred at 4.00 a.m.
"The first shooting occurred at 3.30 a.m. There was one shot. Half an hour later, (the gunman) fired four gunshots," he elaborated.
After the first shooting, he said, security officers in the prison has checked the situation outside the building but did not find any suspicious movement.
"He was then returned to the office and closed the door," he added.
Half an hour later, four gunshots were fired targeted the penitentiary.
There is no casualties in the incident, and the police is still conducting investigation at the scene.
