Bogor, W Java (ANTARA News) - Leaders of Indonesia`s veteran organization, Veteran Legion, met President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Bogor Presidential Palace, here, Tuesday, to discuss preparations for the commemoration of Veteran Day.

"We have received directives from Mr President that National Veteran Day that falls on Aug 10 will be celebrated extravagantly," Social Affairs Minister Idrus Marham informed the press after accompanying President Jokowi to the meeting with the Veteran Legion leaders.

The social affairs ministry is tasked with organizing the celebrations for Indonesia`s Veteran Day, Marham added.

August 10 has been designated as National Veteran Day since 2014 based on a presidential decree. The first celebration was held in 2015.
