Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Renovation of the Rawamangun velodrome in Jakarta has been 100 percent completed and is ready for use during the Asian Games, the contractor PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) said here on Monday.

Jakarta and South Sumatra capital city of Palembang will co-host the largest sport event of Asia scheduled to be held from 18 August to 2 September 2018.

"The Rawamangun velodrome is now ready to be used for cycling race. It is 100 percent completed," Project Director of Jakarta International Velodrome of PT Jakpro Iwan Takwin said here on Monday.

PT Jakpro has even been granted the certificate from the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in June 2018 indicating the velodrome has been fully completed, Iwan said.

The renovation to meet international standard, cost around Rp665 billion, he said.

The Indonesian team of cyclists has used the velodrome for training every day. It has also been used for test event.

There had not been problem during the process of reconstruction. It was finished in 23 months earlier than previously set target of 24 months.
