"We received information that the speed boat had run aground in Lobam waters from Gultom, the Tanjungpinang Corruption Judge," the head of the Tanjungpinang Class A national search and rescue agency, Budi Cahyadi, told Antara on Monday, adding that all passengers survived.
Cahyadi stated that his side had received information about Putra Kepri`s speed boat at 6:19 p.m., and the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) team was heading towards the scene on the RB 209 vessel.
"At 06.41 WIB, the Putra Kepri speed boat headed for Lobam port to await the evacuation by the Basarnas ship," he noted.
Then, at 7:35 a.m., SAR RB 209 found the speed boat and carried out an evacuation, he remarked.
"The passengers were then taken to the Port of Tanjung Bintan, Pura Tanjungpinang," Cahyadi revealed.
He added that there were 38 passengers in the speed boat, including 28 men and 10 women.
"Thank God, the evacuation went on smoothly and all passengers survived," he noted.
Putra Kepri`s speed boat had three crew members and was piloted by Safrizal, he explained.
Before departing from the Budi Punggur Lake, Budi Putra, the Putra Kepri speed boat received a letter of approval for sailing or the port clearance from the custom office in Tanjungpinang.
