Around 100 people were seen sporting white T-shirt with a blue-colored Korean map picture on it, occupying one of the tribunes of the Basketball Hall to witness the historic competition of the elimination round of Group X.
Korea led 58-20 in point collection until the first half, and the voice of the people in white T-shirt dominated the voice of supporters in the hall, including those supporting the host`s team.
The presence of the Korean women`s team and its supporters seemed to declare that sport is not only about competition but also about peace and unity.
However, they upheld the sporting spirit by applauding for Indonesian player Gabriel Sophia when he got a two-ball free shot and made it.
South and North Korea have also been reported to unite in one team in the rowing and dragon boat events.
The Korean basketball team consists of three North Korean players, namely Kim Hye-yon, Jang Mi-gyong, and Ro Suk-yong and the rest nine from South Korea.
Chinese Taipei, India, and Kazakhstan are other teams playing in the group.
