Rini, when reviewing the Bogor-Jakarta Commuter line on Saturday, noted that the capacity of the Bogor Station was too full, often handling 180,000 passengers per day.
"The Bogor station might only be up to 30,000, so it`s been many times over its limit," he noted.
He also pointed out that the parking facilities for motorbikes were inadequate.
Rini said that the Bogor Station revitalization program had been completely planned last year.
The development in revitalization efforts has mainly been carried out to increase parking facilities, and to assure that facilities for passengers become more comfortable.
"Those in Bogor, they still have to communicate with the Mayor, we also want work to begin this year because the proposals had been submitted last year, but considering that there are so many problems which have to be resolved, hopefully this year it will be over," he said.
Rini asserted that if the permit from the Bogor City Government could be issued this year, the revitalization project could begin as soon as possible.
In addition to parking facilities, the plan will also include the construction of flats for low-income residents.
"We want to build flats for low to middle income people, because we can get a place close to the station, so transportation costs can decrease. We encourage them to issue the permit," he said.
