Palembang, S. Sumatra (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian men`s beach volleyball team defeated Afghanistan in straight sets in the 18th Asian Games event held in Jakabaring Sport City (JSC) in South Sumatra`s capital city of Palembang on Sunday.

The Indonesian team won the first set with 21-8 score and the second set with 21-7 score.

"We tried to maintain our performance," a national team player Ade Chandra Rachmawan said here.

According to Ade, the team has intensified their training in the JSC arena for a month.

"We have read the situation here, and it makes us more confident to play here," he added.

Ade admitted that the toughest opponent in the games would be Oman.
