The two gold medals were grabbed by the country`s women`s downhill cyclist Tiara Andini Prastika and men`s downhill cyclist Khoiful Mukhib.
Andini finished the 1.6-kilometer track in 2 minutes 33.056 seconds, followed by Thai cyclist Vipavee Deekaballes in 2 minutes 42.654 seconds.
Another women`s downhill cyclist Nining Purwaningsih grabbed the bronze medal after she lost narrowly to Deekaballes in 2 minutes 42.664 seconds.
"This is my first gold medal in Asian Games. Surely, I am very glad. All my training has paid off," Andini remarked.
Thai cyclist Vipavee Deekaballes admitted that Khai Bun Hill was a tough track. "We only have three hours of training, which we started yesterday (Sunday)."
Meanwhile, Khoiful Mukhib won the gold medal in men`s downhill in 2 minutes 16.687 seconds. The silver medal for the category went to Chinese Taipei cyclist Shengshan Chian.
Chairman of the Indonesian Cycling Federation (PB ISSI) Raja Sapta Oktohari remarked that the achievement has become a good start for the Indonesian team as a host in the Asian Games 2018.
President Joko Widodo, in a phone call, congratulated the athletes and officials for the achievement.
