The result led to Indonesia ranking fifth in the final standings of the water polo sport, from among the six participating countries.
Thinwilay Janista of Thailand scored seven goals, followed by Saraikarn Varistha who contributed five goals.
In fighting for the fourth position, the performance of the Indonesian national team players declined slightly compared to the previous match against Kazakhstan, so Thailand easily took the lead in the first round with a score of 5-1.

In the third round, Balqis Siti from Indonesia scored two points in the match, but still had to concede to Thailand with a score of 16-7.
In the fourth and final round, Thailand closed the game with a score of 20-7, and this result earned them the fourth position in the 2018 Asian Games water polo sports final standings, while Indonesia had to settle for the fifth place.
