Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chinese Taipei emerged as the best team in the men`s mixed recurve category, taking home the gold medal of the Asian Games 2018 archery event here on Monday.

Competing at the Bung Karno (GBK) Sports Stadium`s archery venue, the Chinese Taipei team defeated its South Korean team rival, with a score of 5-3.

"We are very happy with this victory and thank you for your support," Chunheng Wei, an archery athlete of Chinese Taipei, stated after the competition.

Meanwhile, China won the bronze medal against Mongolia, with a final score of 6-0.

The South Korean team was challenged by Chinese Taipei in the final round after defeating each of their opponents in the semifinals held at GBK Square in Senayan, Jakarta, on Saturday.

South Korea successfully stepped into the top list, after it won 6-2 against Japan in the semifinals. Three South Korean archers, namely Hyejin Chang, Chaeyoung Kang, and Eungyeong Lee, excelled in three sets by winning six points, at 2, 3, and 4, respectively.
