Jakarta (ANTARA News) - South Korea`s women`s track cyclists won a gold medal in the team pursuit event at the 2018 Asian Games held at the Jakarta International Velodrome on Tuesday.

Strengthened by Youri Kim, Hyunji Kim, Ahreum Na, and Jumi Lee, the South Korean women`s team won the race by overlapping the Chinese women`s team reinforced by Chenhong Jin, Xiaofei Wang, Hong Wang, and Jali Liu en route to victory in the final for the first place.

In the meantime, the Japanese women`s team comprising Nao Suzuki, Yumi Kajihara, Miho Yoshikawa, and Yuya Hashimoto was stronger than the Hong Kong women`s team in the final round of the bronze medal race.

The Japanese women`s team managed to overlap the Hong Kong team and emerged the winner in the race for the bronze medal.

However, Indonesia, as the host country of the Asian Games, did not include its riders in the women`s 4,000-meter team pursuit event at the 2018 Asian Games.
