Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) said that the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, would face major challenges following the holding of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China, and the 2022 World Cup in Doha, Qatar.

"We have two major activities in the same year in Asia before the Asian Games in Hangzhou. We should have an idea to make Asian Games look unique," OCA Director General Husain Al-Mussalam said in a press conference at the Main Press Center Asian Games 2018 here on Sunday.

One of the ideas is using advanced technology to organize the 2022 Asian Games.

"We have to start a new idea according to the needs of younger generation by collaborating music and culture," Husain Al-Mussalam stated.

Organizing an international sports championship was not just a matter of competition but also international peace and friendship.

"Asia has shown to the world that the region can become a positive partner in the development of sports. Asia is ready to work with all parties without any limitations," he said.

In addition, Asia has adequate economic resources and human resources.

Asia also has infrastructure that is not inferior to other countries.

"We have a different cultural background from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) because we invite all Asian countries with a variety of cultural diversity to develop their sport," he said.
