Mataram Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Muhammad stated here on Saturday that the suspect was identified as LMS, 30, a resident of Monjok Pemamoran in Selaparang Sub-district of Mataram.
"Some 2.2 kilograms of marijuana was confiscated by the police following a raid on his house," Muhammad remarked.
The police had earlier received information on LMS` alleged role as a drug dealer and raided his house on Wednesday (Sept. 12).
In addition to dried marijuana, the police have also seized marijuana porridge and powder.
"The suspect claimed he made the marijuana porridge," he added.
The marijuana was packed in various sizes, Muhammad revealed.
"One of the packages of dried marijuana weighed one kilogram," he noted.
LMS admitted to having received the marijuana consignment from his friend in Mataram City, sent via a courier company from outside the region.
The police is still investigating the case to trace other suspects.
LMS will be charged with article 111 (2), article 114 (2), article 127 (1) of Law No. 35 of 2009 on narcotics.
