Denpasar , Bali (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated that he was amazed by the technological sophistication and integrated system owned by the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of Bali Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD).

"I am personally amazed to see that we have a class like this, which is only rarely exposed. I see, Bali is probably the best," Pandjaitan noted, while reviewing the readiness of the PB Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) ahead of the IMF-World Bank meeting in Denpasar, on Saturday afternoon.

In Bali, the integrated system includes the hospital, joint posts, and related parties. Also included is the preparation of helicopters, ships, and ambulances in the event of emergency conditions.

"We want a similar situation as in Bali, but in a slightly smaller class for Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, Banyuwangi, Manado, Lake Toba, so that tourists can be benefitted," he remarked.

Associated with the threat of eruption of Mount Agung, the minister expressed hope that even if it happens, the effect will only be within a 12-kilometer radius from the top of the mountain.

"With integrated BMKG, anything can be seen immediately," the former coordinating minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs explained.

After monitoring the BPBD in Bali, Pandjaitan also held a brief meeting with Bali Governor Wayan Koster, Bali Police Chief Inspector General Pol Petrus R Golose, Military Commander IX / Udayana Maj. Gen. Benny Susianto, Bali Regional Secretary Dewa Made Indra, Acting Head of BPBD Bali Dewa Putu Mantera, Head of UPT Pusdalops PB BPBD Bali Jaya Serataberana, and a number of related parties.

After the meeting, Pandjaitan viewed a number of equipment in the building that was designed to be technologically resistant to the earthquake shocks of up to 9 on the Richter Scale.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of Bali Province BPBD Dewa Putu Mantera revealed that it had prepared facilities and infrastructure; human resources; and land, sea, and air evacuation systems ahead of the IMF-World Bank meeting from Oct 8 to 14, 2018.

"We are ready to work together with the armed forces of Indonesian Police and related agencies. Around 150 people have been fully equipped with medical personnel. The communication system is sophisticated and connected to all," Dewa Mantera noted.

Regarding anticipation of the eruption of Mount Agung, his side has already prepared along with the community, in collaboration with the district / city BPBD.

"Logistics is also ready, and we will coordinate the Social Service too. The point is that it is `ready` ahead of the IMF-World Bank meeting. This is a moment of pride for Bali and Indonesia," Mantera, who is also the Head of the National and Political Unity of Bali Province, pointed out. *** 4 *** (E002/INE).
