At the drawing of the serial numbers carried out by the General Election Commission (KPU), Jokowi and his running mate Amin got number 01 on ballot, while Subianto and his running mate Uno got number 02.
"Yes, Alhamdulillah (Thank God), this is in accordance with what we expected. We got number one," Jokowi said after the serial number drawing was held at the KPU office in Jakarta on Friday night.
According to the incumbent presidential candidate, serial number 01 (one) would make it easier for his party to communicate with the community.
"We really want Indonesia to unite," Jokowi stated, but he did not want to disclose preparations being made along with Amin in carrying out a campaign of peaceful declaration, which will start on Sunday (September 23).
Meanwhile, the number 02 presidential candidate, Prabowo, called for the democratic process, namely the 2019 Legislative Election and Presidential Election (Pilpres), to be well and calm.
"And I hope all (parties) carry out their duties as well as possible for the benefit of the nation, state, people, and also for the future of our children and grandchildren," Prabowo said during the number-drawing.
On the occasion, Prabowo also agreed with the presidential candidate number 01, Widodo, who hoped the legislative general election and the 2019 presidential election would run peacefully.
"I call on all levels, all the people of Indonesia, let us carry out the elections coolly, peacefully, with a spirit of kinship," he said.
Prabowo explained that the General Election and Presidential Election were the places to find the best candidates for the nation, and not to find the faults and shortcomings of each candidate.
"We must feel that we are a large family of the Republic of Indonesia, and therefore, we must address all national issues as a matter of our extended family. I hope all parties are always calm, not emotional, restraining themselves," Prabowo added.
