By revising the law, it can be immediately resolved and will be able to create guarantees for temporary workers.
According to him, President Joko Widodo has issued a Presidential Letter (Surpres) Number R19/Pres/03/2017 concerning the completion of honorary employee status through the revision of the ASN Law.
Bambang said in the president`s letter, the government asked Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Justice and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly, and PAN-RB Minister Syafruddin to together discuss the revision of the ASN Law.
"We want the revision of the ASN Law to be immediately passed by the Legislative Assembly (DPR), and we are committed to completing it," Bambang said at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday.
He said he accepted the aspirations of the All-Indonesia Regency DPRD Association (Adkasi), the Association of All-Indonesian City DPRD (Adeksi) National Civil Apparatus National Committee (KNASN) and Indonesian K2 Rerion Forum (FHK2I) at his office on Tuesday afternoon.
According to him, the government must immediately submit a Problem Inventory List (DIM) on the revision of the ASN Law to the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the House of Representatives so that the problem of 225 thousand contract honorariums will be resolved immediately.
Member of the State Civil Service Regulations Act (ASN) Committee of the Legislative Body (Baleg) of the House of Representatives Rieke Diah Pitaloka said that in the last few days, the public was surprised by the news that the state would resolve the honorarium through Government Employees` schemes with Work Agreements (PPPK).
Meanwhile, according to him, hundreds of thousands of people such as honorary, non-permanent employees, contract employees, and non-civil servant permanent employees continue to fight for their rights.
"So far, in the ASN Law, there is no single article or paragraph that alludes to the completion of the status of honorary work even though they have served for decades," he said.
He said the solution to the temporary settlement must have a legal umbrella because of those who served for decades without any legal umbrella, so the House of Representatives acclaimed that the revision of the ASN Law would be an initiative of the DPR which was set at the DPR plenary meeting on January 24, 2017.
According to Rieke, the DPR Leader has conveyed to the president the matter and on March 22, 2017, President Jokowi issued a Presidential Letter (Surpres) Number R19 / Pres / 03/2017.
