Kuta, Bali (ANTARA News) - Directorate General of Customs at the Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, has prepared eight special lanes for VIP and non-VIP delegates of the International Monetary Fund-World Bank (IMF-WB) Annual Meeting.

"We are preparing these special lanes, given that Bali will host the IMF-WB annual meeting on October 7-14, 2018. These lanes are expected to facilitate inspection and reduce density," Head of the Directorate General of Customs for Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara areas Syarif Hidayat stated here Thursday.

Meanwhile, the VVIP delegates comprising finance ministers and governors of the Central Bank from 189 countries, as well as the high-ranking IMF-WB officials and the ASEAN leaders will pass other lanes managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the state protocol.

"The VVIP delegation will come aboard their own state aircraft and will be welcomed by the ministries and the Regional Police of Bali," Syarif revealed.

He added that the arrival of the IMF-WB delegation will increase the number of arrivals at Bali`s Ngurah Rai Airport for three days before the IMF-WB Annual Meeting officially begins.

"We have been taking precautionary measures for this condition by preparing additional five regular lanes and four electronic passport lanes. Thus, I hope their arrival would not affect 18 thousand passengers coming to Bali," he noted.

Syarif added that professional conference organizers and liaison officers will guide the VIP delegates upon arrival at the Ngurah Rai Airport.

He noted that the IMF-WB participants have been truly accredited by their respective government, so the custom protection procedure would not become too complicated.

"They are trusted people, so we believe these delegates will not risk their positions and careers to do trivial things, such as carrying illegal drugs," he added.
