"As a member of Commission VI, I support BUMNs that have moved to assist Palu and Donggala," DPR Commission VI member Bowo Sidik Pangarso said in a written statement in Jakarta on Saturday.
The extent of support to SOEs, including Pertamina, as a result of the earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi was indeed a concern.
Because of that, it was necessary to work together to ease the burden of the victims of the disaster, he added.
For this reason, as a member of the House of Representatives at the commission in charge of state-owned enterprises, Pangarso, also hoped that if necessary, all BUMN CSR funds will be used to help the citizens of Donggala and Palu.
He added that the victims really needed help and not only food, drinks, medicines, including fuel oil (BBM).
In that context, Pangarso expressed hope that Pertamina and other BUMNs that have helped earthquake victims in Donggala can be followed by other SOEs.
"With the number of SOEs reaching around 120, their initiative can be very helpful," he remarked.
As proclaimed, PT Pertamina sent LPG tubes and fuel tank cars to Central Sulawesi using landing craft tank (LCT) vessels.
The shipment using LCT, which can accommodate up to 640 tons of cargo, was carried out from the Port of Somber Balikpapan based on data received by Antara from Pertamina in Jakarta on Saturday.
Pertamina Kalimantan Region Manager Communication and CSR Yudi Nugraha explained that Pertamina continued to optimize all aid distribution channels to reach disaster locations.
In addition, Pertamina also sent a three-kilogram LPG tube to market in 12 locations of the earthquake-tsunami disaster in Donggala, Palu, and Sigi, Central Sulawesi.
Manager Communication & CSR of Pertamina Region VII Marketing Operation, M Roby Hervindo, revealed that since the market operation was carried out on Wednesday (Oct 3), its demand had increased significantly.
"This demand is due to its vast location and the condition of some people who have resumed their daily activities," he pointed out.
