"I feel respected by the investigators` attitude," Rais said in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He added that he was questioned for almost six hours, but most of the time was spent having lunch, praying, and talking about other things.
"So it was very smooth, and the questions were straight and not complicated. There were no twisted questions. I thank you very much," the Chairperson of the PAN Honorary Board noted.
Rais also claimed to have chicken `gudeg` for lunch and `jamblang` rice and `timbel` rice. After lunch, a team of police doctors checked him, including his blood pressure, which was 120/80.
Regarding questioning, Rais, who is known as the reform figure, claimed to have received 30 questions from the investigators regarding the false confession of Sarumpaet.
A joint team of the Jakarta Police and the Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian Police has been investigating the alleged fake information on the assault of Sarumpaet.
"We were urged to unearth the case, and we are investigating it," Jakarta Police`s Director for Criminal Investigation Senior Commissioner Nico Afinta stated in Jakarta on Wednesday last week (Oct 3).
Afinta noted that the Jakarta police had received three reports, while the Bareskrim has received one report of fabricated information on persecution of the activist.
The report has requested police investigation on the alleged baseless information under article 28 of Law No. 11 of 2008 on electronic information and transaction.
The joint team has sought evidence on the assault.
Sarumpaet claimed to have been beaten up by some unknown people, resulting in facial injuries, as indicated in pictures purportedly showing her swollen eyes that were circulated on social media on Tuesday.
According to the activist, she was assaulted near Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung, West Java, on Sept 21, after attending an international forum in the city.
However, the police did not find any evidence, witness, or information regarding the persecution.
In fact, the police found that Sarumpaet was not assaulted but had undergone facial plastic surgery and was hospitalized in Jakarta from Sept 21-24.
