Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Tourism Ministry`s sales mission on 10 mainstay tourism destinations to Laos and Cambodia concluded potential ,388 transactions worth US$719,907.

The ministry`s data received by Antara here on Sunday showed that the 1,388 transactions consisted of 650 deals in Laos worth $254,890 and 738 transactions or about $466,017 in Cambodia.

Activities on the sales mission were carried out in Vientiane, Laos on October 10, 2018 and in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on October 12, 2018.

The Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Indonesian embassies in Laos and Cambodia, brought together six Indonesian tourism industries from Bali, West Java and Yogyakarta as sellers with 40 buyers in Laos and 45 buyers in Cambodia.

"A table top meeting was held at Lao Plaza Hotel Vientiane on October 10 2018 with six Indonesian sellers from Bali, West Java and Yogyakarta with 40 buyers from Laos.

The meeting was also attended by the Indonesian Ambassador to Laos, Pratito Soeharyo; and Deputy Minister of Tourism of Laos Savankhone Razmountry.

While business meetings in Cambodia were held at Raffles Le Royal Hotel Phnom Penh, Cambodia on September 12, 2018 with eight Indonesian sellers from Bali, West Java and Yogyakarta; with 40 buyers from Cambodia.

The business to business meeting was also attended by the Indonesian Ambassador to Cambodia Sudirman Haseng; Deputy Director General, Ministry of Tourism Cambodia, HuL Seila, President of Cambodia Association of Travel Agents (CATA) Chhay Sivlin and Assistant Deputy Marketing 1 Regional 1, Masruroh.

The Ministry of Tourism also provided support for the implementation of the Cambodia Travel Mart (CTM) which took place on October 11-13, 2018 at the Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center, Phnom Penh.

The support was in the form of sending promotional materials and inviting two Indonesian tour package sellers from Yogyakarta to participate in the exhibition.
