"There are five of our superior products to be directly sold to the Chinese market, namely, coffee, crackers, shrimp crackers, instant noodles, and swallow nests," he said.
The export value will be increased by participating in the 11.11 Global Shopping Festival, which is a large-scale discount event in China held every November 11. Previously, the event was known as the Singles` Day.
The five products will be sold via Alibaba Group`s e-commerce platform.
Besides having good quality, these products are considered in great demand by Chinese consumers.
"These products are available in large quantities and are ready to be launched in the Chinese market. We do not limit the number of orders, so we prepare these products for unlimited orders," Airlangga said.
According to him, the 11.11 event is an important time and a good opportunity for Indonesia to demonstrate the competitiveness of national manufactured goods in the global market. This participation is expected to expand export market for the national products.
"Alibaba will promote this product in early November. There will be a speech from President Joko Widodo also regarding the products," he said.
The 11.11 which organized by the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group is one of the most awaited shopping events in China with more than 10 million units of products offered.
In 2017, Alibaba broke the record for sales on the Singles? Day by making transactions amounted US$25 billion or more than Rp300 trillion in just 24 hours.
"After the double eleventh, Indonesia will get a special pavilion for more than five products. All transactions are carried out online, but the goods are sent offline. Therefore, the products should be available, so that they can be directly delivered to the buyers," Airlangga explained.
To succeed the event, the government will involve the Indonesian Commerce and Industry Chamber (Kadin) to open opportunities for cooperation and technology transfer.
"They will be invited to see Chinese companies that are in great demand by people in the country, see their production and warehouse systems. Currently, all processes from production, storing to delivery are integrated, " he added.
