Guangzhou, China (ANTARA News) - Garuda Indonesia, the nation`s flag carrier, offers a special package for Guangzhou-Denpasar flights to help recover Chinese tourist confidence in visiting Indonesia after being beset by repeated battering by earthquake lately.

"This is one of our attempts to help the government convince tourists and tour agents here," General Manager of Garuda Indonesia for Guangzhou Suzana Argentine Walandouw said on Wednesday.

A number of major earthquakes have hit the country since late July with the most recent being one with a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale leaving three people dead in East Java last week.

The most devastating was one with a magnitude of 7.4 on the Richter scale triggering tsunami that wept across the western coast of Central Sulawesi causing the death of more than 2,000 people.

A string of powerful quakes hit Lombok in July and August, causing a loss of more than 550 lives on that Bali`s neighboring island.

By teaming up with the Indonesian state-owned airline a number of travel agents in China offer a cheaper tour package of 1,999 RMB (Rp4.39 million) from Guangzhou to Bali including for accommodation in five days.
