"The symbolic inauguration will be held on Monday (Oct 22)," said the Supreme Court`s Head of Legal and Public Relations Bureau Abdullah said here on Friday.
The 85 new courts consist of three judicial bodies namely 30 District Courts, 50 Religious Courts, three Shariah Courts, and two State Administrative Courts.
"The new courts are spread in all regions in Indonesia and located in district and municipality, except for the State Administrative Courts in the capital city of the respective province," Abdullah said.
Abdullah further explained that the newly established courts still had limited operational facilities and infrastructure.
Only 15 courts that were built on the Supreme Court`s land, he said.
While 26 courts have the status of local government land grants, 26 courts in the process of land grants by the local government, 15 courts with land use status from the local government, and three courts with no land allocation or procurement process.
Abdullah said the Supreme Court has tried to request budget for further improvement of the court`s infrastructure.
"In accordance with the direction of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the limited supporting facilities and infrastructure of the new courts should not be used `as a reason for the court apparatus not to provide services`," Abdullah concluded.
