Denpasar, Bali, (ANTARA News) - The Legian Beach Festival 2018 (LBF 2018) at Legian Beach in Badung District, Bali Province, on Nov 9-12, is being enlivened by some 80 entrepreneurs to promote tourism to the local community and foreign tourists.

LBF 2018 Organizing Committee Chairman Nyoman Sarjana remarked in Legian on Friday that the event will not only display arts and culture but also feature an exhibition in which 80 entrepreneurs of both hotel and business companies as well as micro and small enterprises (MSMEs) will participate.

"The participants are more than local MSMEs or from local villages. However, there are also tenants from other companies, such as hotels and restaurants," he noted.

He said the LBF participants were entirely from the Customary Village of Legian, as the aim is to introduce Balinese cultural arts, especially those that develop in the Legian area.

"Amid the frenzy of tourists, both domestic and foreign, we want to also present the potential of sustainable cultural arts in Legian. Thus, tourists are also more familiar that Legian still preserves the culture of the local community," Nyoman remarked.

He further said that apart from the exhibition, which is thronged by tenants, art and cultural activities will also be held daily.

"Hence, during the LBF event, the youth and local residents of Legian Village will perform various activities, such as beach sports, to enliven the annual event," Nyoman stated.

During the LBF, a culinary festival will be held to serve various types of traditional Balinese, national, and international menus.

Badung Deputy District Head I Ketut Suzy will open the LBF, which will be attended by several Badung district officials and other invited guests.
