The award was handed over by the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Kirana Pritasari, to Lombok Airport management on Saturday (Nov 10) for their achievement in implementing programs in the health sector, especially in maintaining the environment in the airport area.
The General Manager of Lombok International Airport (LIA), I Gusti Ngurah Ardita, here Sunday expressed gratitude to the airport community, especially the Port Health Quarantine, and the management and staff members of PT Angkasa Pura (AP) I for supporting the airport management.
"This achievement is a momentum to organize Lombok International Airport to be better and better, and in the near future the airport is expected to be at the same class with other advanced airports at national and international levels," he said.
The other two airports under the management of PT Angkasa Pura I which also won the award are SAMS Sepinggan Balikpapan (East Kalimantan) Airport and Adi Soemarmo Airport in Solo (Central Java).
This award is given to airports that have fulfilled a number of requirements set in the Health Minister Regulation No. 44/2014 on Airport Organization and Healthy Airports.
The Healthy Airport and Airport Award is an annual event held by the Indonesian Ministry of Health.
The 2018 Healthy Airport and Airport Award were also achieved by Fisabilillah Airport in Tanjung Pinang (Riau Islands), Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung (West Java), and Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang (Banten) under the management of PT Angkasa Pura II.
