The Deputy of Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin, in a statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, said that after holding a bilateral meeting with Solomon Islands Prime Minister (PM) Rick Houenipwela, Jokowi continued his working visit to APEC Haus to attend a number of activities in the series of APEC Summits.
Arriving at APEC Haus at around 3:30 a.m local time, the president was welcomed by Papua New Guinea PM Peter O`Neill.
After shaking hands and taking pictures, the president was accompanied by Justin Tkatchenko, Minister of Land and Spatial Planning (Minister of APEC), to the room where the heads of state / head of government gathered.
After that, the president and the heads of state/heads of the APEC government took a photo together. They also seemed to wave to the journalists who captured the moment.
After a joint photo session, the president then headed to the ABAC Meeting Room to attend the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) presentation to the heads of state / heads of APEC governments.
The event was then immediately coupled with a "breakout session" in which state leaders discussed in several different small spaces.
During the meeting, which lasted approximately for one hour, the delegates who accompanied Jokowi also watched from the "viewing room."
The delegations included the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, and Minister of State Secretary Pratikno.
In addition, the Indonesian Ambassador to Papua New Guinea Ronald JP Manik, Head of State Protocol Andri Hadi, Director General of Asia-Pacific and Africa Ministry of Foreign Affairs Desra Percaya, and Special Staff of President Adita Irawati were also present.
