Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) took an opprtunity to visit Tunjungan Plaza here on Sunday to buy presents for his two grandchildren upon arrival in the city after attending the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2018 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

"These are for Sedah Mirah (and) Jan Ethes," he said at Tunjungan Plaza 5 Shopping Mall.

He arrived at the shopping center at 8.40pm accompanied by East Java governor Soekarwo.

People jostled to have selfies or shake hands with him upon knowing he was in the mall.

President Jokowi later went to the fourth floor where baby and child items are sold. First he took a white dress and then a blue jacket for a boy and also trousers.

"Here we have a dress and a jacket for presents. I chose them myself," he said showing the items he had bought.

Totally he bought eight pieces of clothes worth arounf Rp2.8 million.

President Jokowi looked contented with what he had bought. "Good, the quality is good. Out textile products and garments are good and cheap," he said.
