Central Lombok, W Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Puan Maharani saw off returning military and police personnel who had completed their assignment to help victims in quake-affected Lombok in a ceremony here on Wednesday.

The military and police personnel who were returning from serving the victims of earthquake in the region were grouped in a Concerted Joint Task Force Command (Kogasgabpad).

"During carrying out their tasks in providing assistance to the earthquake victims, the Kogasgabpad officers had worked seriously and sincerely in assisting the quake-affected people, so that NTB is now rising to develop a better life," Minister Maharani said addressing the ceremony on the departure of the officers.

The ceremony was held to see off the Kogasgabpad troops at Lombok International Airport.

Minister Maharani said the presence of the military and police personnel during the emergency response period of in NTB was tangible evidence of the state`s care for the people, especially during the difficult time.

Maharani who is also the grand daughter of the first president Soekarno expressed appreciation to the local governments of NTB and the quake-affected district/municipal for their support and good cooperation in overcoming all problems during the restoration of post-disaster NTB.

"I appreciate it very much although at the same time you (military/police personnel) also become the victim, yet it did not reduce your spirit to serve the people," she said," she said.

In the meantime, Kogasgabpad Commander Maj Gen Madsuni said that the number of personnel who were withdrawn from their service in the disaster-affected region almost reach 3,000. All of the have been deployed to the region since August 25, 2018.

"In total, the whole personnel have been withdrawn from their deployment in quake affected area, except 400 others who are under the command of Col. Inf. Farid Makruf," Madsuni noted.
