Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian currency rupiah gained over the U.S. dollar trading at the level of 14,544 or gaining 36 points at the close of the last trading day this week.

Senior analyst of CSA Research Institute Reza Priyambada said negative sentiment in the country was not too bad to keep rupiah from gaining strength.

Reza said the impact of the appreciation of the euro has contributed to rupiah rise in value.

The euro strengthened on an agreement between Britain and the European on the Brexit.

Some observers, however, said the euro strengthening would not last long considering the direction of the policy of the European Central Bank (ECB).

"ECB October Meeting Minutes that would give indications of the direction of the monetary policy of the bank especially in helping banks to prop up euro zone economic growth," Reza said.
