"Fuel supplies in the face of Christmas and New Year are adequate. There will be task forces, and so I do not think there will be a problem," PT Pertamina President Director Nicke Widyawati stated at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) in Jakarta on Monday.
Pertamina has made preparations in the face of Christmas and New Year 2019 holidays by establishing a Christmas and New Year Fuel Task Force.
The fuel task force is tasked with monitoring supplies and ensuring smooth distribution of fuel to all regions in Indonesia. It will also provide services based on the people`s needs for fuel and liquefied natural gas (LPG).
The Fuel Task Force will begin its activities on Dec 18, 2018, and will work until Jan 7, 2019.
On a different occasion, Pertamina Corporate Communication Vice President, Adiatma Sardjito, remarked that Pertamina had evaluated the increase in fuel and LPG consumption and ensured the availability of fuel and LPG for the public during Christmas and New Year.
"While later on the eve of Christmas and New Year`s holidays, Pertamina will alert various supporting infrastructure, such as preparing tank dispensers, provision of Pertamax Kiosk, Packaged fuels (BBM), Packaged BBM Motorists, Pouch gas stations, and others," Sardjito explained.
As in the previous years, in order to serve travelers, Pertamina has also prepared various strategic steps to anticipate the smooth supply of fuels and LPG, focusing on areas that are the concentration points of Christmas, tourist route points, and travelling points of the homecoming travelers` route.
