Jambi (ANTARA News) - The Jambi Provincial Government and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero) signed a joint agreement on the development of Jambi port.

"This agreement is part of the seriousness of the Jambi Provincial Government to support and encourage the development of ports in Jambi, especially the utilization of the Batanghari River," Acting Governor of Jambi H Fachrori Umar said in Jambi on Friday.

The signing of the joint agreement was carried out by Acting Governor of Jambi and Director of Pelindo II / IPC Elvyn G Masassya in Jambi.

The intended port development is Talang Duku Port in Muarojambi District and Muarasabak Port in Tanjabtim.

The Jambi Provincial Government and Pelindo II presented the port development plan in the presence of relevant institutional representatives during the signing of a joint agreement on port development in Jambi on Thursday.

The Acting Governor of Jambi said that the Batanghari river was very positive for the port as well as developing the area especially for the transport of plantation products and minerals.

"The Jambi Provincial Government will facilitate port development, because in the future it will be very necessary and strategic," he said.
