The event will be held from Dec 13 to 18 at the International Centre for Exhibition (ICE) Hanoi, Vietnam, according to a statement here on Saturday.
The submission and curation process started after the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2018 in ICE BSD City, Tangerang, Indonesia.
Indonesian Ambassador in Hanoi, Ibnu Hadi, officially opened the event.
The event will be attended by ambassadors/representatives from diplomatic missions in Hanoi, representative from ministries/agencies of Vietnam, Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as business communities in Hanoi and surrounding areas.
"Indonesia Pavilion gives an added value to the definition and sets a remarkable model of Fashion Diplomacy," Hadi stated.
Furthermore, Hadi emphasized that the Indonesian Pavilion also helps in expanding market; exchanging creative ideas; sharing rich cultural values; and bridging mutual interest and opportunities among Indonesia?s vast and fast-growing fashion industries.
The Indonesian Pavilion also boosts people-to-people contact for mutually beneficial bilateral trade of US$10 billion in 2020.
In the first 10 months of 2018, total bilateral trade reached $6.3 billion from $5.3 billion (same period in 2017), consisting of $3.9 billion of Indonesian export to Vietnam and Indonesian imports amounting to $2.9 billion.
In 2017, the total trade of Indonesia and Vietnam increased by 16.36 percent to $6.50 billion from $5.58 billion (2016), consisting of $3.63 billion of Indonesian export to Vietnam (increase of 22.51) and Indonesian imports amounting to $2.61 billion (increase of 9.037 percent).
"Southeast Asia has a deep and diverse culture that is compatible for inspiring creativity for today`s global market. Such collaboration of business partnership between Indonesia and Vietnam will hopefully grow and contribute to the strengthening of ASEAN Economic Community," the ambassador explained.
