Jokowi arrived in Sidoarjo, East Java, on Tuesday at around 09.18 WIB and immediately traveled overland to Jombang.
At around 10:45 am., Jokowi arrived in Jombang and visited the Darul `Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Jombang Regency, to meet the kyai (religious preachers), ulama (Ulemas), and santris (Islamic students).
The president was welcomed by the caregivers of the Islamic boarding school on arrival at the Darul `Ulum Islamic Boarding School Complex. He held a closed gathering for a few moments.
Worshipers and santris of the Islamic boarding school (Ponpes) waited for him at Darul `Ulum Mosque, which is inside the complex of the pesantren.
The congregation was not only from Jombang but also from other East Java regions, who gathered at the Islamic boarding school located at Jalan Rejoso Number 1 Peterongan, Jombang.
Next, the president is scheduled to inaugurate the high-rise building of Darul `Ulum Islamic Boarding School.
After lunch at one of the restaurants, Jokowi headed to the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School in Jombang Regency to inaugurate the Indonesian Islamic Museum K. Hasyim Asy`ari.
The Head of State`s work agenda included a visit to the Mamba`ul Ma?arif Denanyar Islamic Boarding School, Jombang District. In this place, the Head of State plans to launch a Micro Waqf Bank program.
In the evening, the president will head to the Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School, Jombang District, to meet the santri.
After the event, Jokowi will spend the night in Surabaya and continue with the work agenda the next day.
Accompanying the president were Deputy Chair of the People`s Representative Assembly (MPR) Muhaimin Iskandar, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Religious Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, President Secretariat President Heru Budi Hartono, Military Secretary President Marsda TNI Trisno Hendradi, Special Staff President Johan Budi, and Deputy Commander of Paspampres Marsma TNI Deny Muis.
