Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will monitor a joint fact-finding team (TGPF) in investigating the case of Novel Baswedan, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) senior investigator, who lost left eye`s vision after acid attack by unknown persons.

"My job is to monitor, so this case is soon solved," Jokowi noted here, Monday, Jan 14.

Complete initial proof is needed in every case, he emphasized.

"My part is just to ensure that it has to be completed fast. That is all my task," Jokowi noted.

The establishment of TGPF is based on a recommendation of the National Commission of Human Rights (Komnas HAM) issued on December 21, 2018.

"This is a recommendation of the Komnas HAM. Be careful, it is a recommendation of the Komnas HAM to the National Police (Polri) to set up an investigation team or a joint team comprising Polri, KPK, and experts, in order to solve the case fast," he noted.

On January 8, 2019, Polri Chief General Tito Karnavian had appointed 65 members of TGPF to probe Baswedan`s case.

Karnavian is the person in charge of the TGPF and his deputy is Commissioner General Ari Dono, who is concurrently deputy police chief.

Chairman of the TGPF is Inspector General Idham Azis, who is concurrently Jakarta Police chief, and his deputy is Brigadier General Nico Afinto, chairman of the Jakarta Police`s Crime Investigation Bureau.

The joint team`s members include 46 police officers and several experts and NGO activities, such as Indriyanto Seno Adji, Hermawan Sulistyo, Amzulian Rifai, Hendardi, Poengky Indarti, Nur Kholis, Ifdhal Kasim, Budi Agung Nugroro, Harun, Novrizal, Herda K, and Tessa Mahardika.

Police high-ranking officers included in the joint team are Commissioner General Arief Sulistyanto, Commissioner General Putut Eko Bayuseno, Inspector General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Brigadier General Wahyu Hadininggrat.
