"All permits will be tightened, Amdal has to be done and there will be no shortcut for it," Prabowo noted during the second round of presidential debate here on Sunday.
Prabowo, who is the challenger for the incumbent presidential candidate Joko Widodo, highlighted current infrastructure development that were built without considering its environmental impacts.
He pointed out that many irresponsible construction conglomerates have ignored the environmental impact of their projects.
"For many years, big companies have been violating (permit), polluting environment with their waste, but they do not want to pay (fine) as they have been involved in conspiracy to avoid their obligation," he said.
Hence, Prabowo emphasized his promise to ensure law enforcement in environmental field.
The two presidential candidates would deliver their closing remarks in the sixth segment.
