Semarang, C Java, (ANTARA News) - The Central Java immigration office has deported 37 foreign nationals since early this year for abusing their permits of stay.

"Last year, we deported 197 foreign nationals. Until March 2019, we have deported 37 foreign nationals," Chief of the Immigration Division of the Regional Office of the Law and Human Rights Ministry in Central Java Province, Ramli H.S said in Purbalingga, on Wednesday afternoon.

He stated that some of the foreign nationals were deported for abusing their permits of stay to find jobs.

"Some of them stayed longer than the given time. If the case happens, of course, we will take measures. For instance, several weeks ago, the Cilacap immigration office deported three football players from Iran," he noted.

Therefore, he added that if any of the local people saw foreign nationals allegedly committing violation, they should coordinate with the foreign national supervisory team or immigration office to follow up on it.

By Wednesday (March 6), 18 foreign national supervisory teams at a sub-district level have been set up in Purbalingga district.

Overall, there are 472 such teams in 32 districts and municipalities in Central Java.
