Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has underscored the need to involve the private sector in the effort to achieve the economic growth target for 2019 and 2020.

"We must always keep the momentum of our positive economic growth performance. I always stress that the state budget has limitations. To that end, we must increase the synergy involving the private sector," he stated at a plenary cabinet meeting on the government`s work plan 2020 at the Presidential Office here on Wednesday.

He noted that he has frequently reminded the nation on the need to achieve the target by increasing investment and exports.

Various reforms to improve investment and increase exports must always be conducted to strengthen business agents` confidence, in order to provide greater benefits, create more jobs, and reduce unemployment rate, he remarked.

The president further added that the phase of technocratic work must continue although the country will hold legislative and presidential elections this year.

"The government`s work plan, macro-economic policy, and fiscal policy for 2020 must be taken," he explained.

All these policies will serve as the basis for the formulation of the draft state budget 2020 by referring to the technocratic medium-term national development plan which is currently being finalized at the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), he pointed out.
