Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo stipulates that salary adjustments for civil servants (PNS) starting January 1, 2019, will also apply to prospective civil servants (CPNS).

Information from the Cabinet Secretariat through its official website in Jakarta on Monday said that President Joko Widodo on March 13, 2019, had signed Presidential Regulation Number 16 of 2019 concerning the PNS Basic Salary Adjustment according to Government Regulation Number 30 of 2015 in the PNS Basic Salary according to PP Number 15 of 2019.

The Presidential Decree is to follow up on the stipulation of the basic salary of Civil Servants based on Government Regulation (PP) Number 15 of 2019.

In the Presidential Regulation Number 16 Year 2019, it is stated that basic salaries of civil servants according to space class and working period are listed in the attachment to Government Regulation Number 30 Year 2015, starting January 1, 2019, adjusted to the basic salary according to the space and working period as stated in the PP Number attachment 15 of 2019.

"Civil Servants as intended include Candidates for Civil Servants (CPNS)," read Article 1 paragraph (2) of the Presidential Regulation Number 16 Year 2019.

The details of the adjustment of basic salary, according to this presidential regulation, are as listed in Appendix I to Annex IV, which are an integral part of the Presidential Regulation.

The adjustment of basic salary, as referred to in this presidential regulation, is determined by the decision of the Personnel Development Officer in their respective environment in accordance with laws and regulations.

PP No. 15 of 2019 states that the provisions concerning the procedure for paying basic salary to civil servants is regulated by the regulation of the Minister of Finance. The technical provisions regarding adjusting the basic salary of civil servants are regulated by the Regulation of the Head of the State Civil Service Agency (BKN).

"This Presidential Regulation shall come into force on the date of promulgation," read Article 5 of the Presidential Regulation Number 16 of 2019, which was promulgated by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly on March 13, 2019.
