The nursing home has set up two polling stations (TPS) to enable 220 eligible voters from Bina Laras Harapan Sentosa 2 and Budi Murni nursing homes to cast their votes.
Nursing home head Tuti Sulistyaningsih confirmed that they had set up two TPS to prevent spiraling queues and ensure a conducive environment.
"We have segregated it into two polling stations, 078 and 079, situated in proximity. Thank God, the KPU (the General Election Commission) agreed to assist us," she remarked.
The process of casting ballots went smoothly since the voters had earlier taken part in an event held by the KPU and volunteers to disseminate information. The voters were able to independently cast their ballot without any volunteer assistance.
Each voter merely took a minute or two to vote.
The polling stations were shut down at 1 p.m. local time in line with the KPU regulation.
Over 190 million people eligible for voting throughout Indonesia and overseas exercised their voting rights on Wednesday in the first simultaneous elections to elect the president and vice president pair as well as legislators.
