This activity, organized aboard the Spirit ship at Chelsea Piers, New York, the United States, Friday local time, was attended by 60 volunteers.
Community leaders and leaders of Jokowi's New York Volunteers Syaiful Hamid, Soeko Prasetyo, Yayuk Kristanto, and Indra Tjahjadi were present at the event, noted a written statement received by ANTARA on Saturday.
"In ushering in the fasting month of Ramadhan along with celebrating the victory, we also held a fundraising event for the heroes of democracy, who lost their lives in the assignment. From New York, we extend our good wishes to the people fasting," Amanda Toar, who initiated the event, remarked.
Aryani Hamid, one of the coordinators and Treasurer of #RelawanJokowiNY and #Amerika BerSATU, remarked that fundraising events will be organized across the United States, pending the KPU's official declaration. The accrued funds will be delivered through the organization decided by the volunteers.
Earlier, several hundred election organizers died due to exhaustion. On the basis of KPU's latest data on May 3, 2019, the death toll of officers of the polling group (KPPS) had touched 412.
