Jakarta (ANTARA) - Former commander of the Army's Strategic Reserves Command, Major General (ret) Kivlan Zen, received a summons from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police on Thursday to become a witness in the case against Eggi Sudjana, who has been accused of treason.

"Kivlan received a summons only to give testimony," Eggi's lawyer, Pitra Romadoni, said.

Pitra added that Kivlan has been in the investigation room of the General Crime Detective Directorate at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police since 11.00 a.m. local time.

Kivlan will assist the police in their investigation of an alleged treason case involving National Mandate Party (PAN) politician Eggi Sudjana.

The Jakarta Metropolitan Police named Eggi Sudjana as a suspect for alleged treason on Tuesday (May 14). Since then, Eggi has been held in police custody.
